Many of our Mirage players play for their respective high schools and middle schools. These are some of the highlights and accomplishments our players have made for their schools.
Mirage Purple 94s
The Mirage Purple 16U team was well represented this high school season throughout the state. Perhaps most impressive, six of our current players received All-Conference Honors. We congratulate Alex D'Aloisio (Tolland HS), Carly Williams (Simsbury HS), Emily Forzono (Suffield HS), Erin Weber (Rocky Hill HS), Haley Welcer (Glastonbury HS), and Liz Arpin (East Hartford HS).
Mirage 93's
Christine Bighinatti was a key contributor in leading her 2010 Rocky Hill High School softball team to is second straight Conference Championship and its second straight trip to the State Quarterfinals. She was a defensive standout in CF, and offensively, she boasted a .339 batting average, a .393 on base percentage and a .536 slugging percentage, a result of nearly 1/3 of her hits going for extra bases.
Sarah Brochu earned All Academic honors for her efforts during the 2010 Berlin High School softball season. Sarah lead her team in assists (47) as she played stellar defense at second base, posting a team leading .962 fielding percentage including 28 put outs.
Laura Dabruzzi often came up with a key hit at just the right time to help her 2010 Rocky Hill High School softball team win its second straight Conference Championship and its second straight trip to the State Quarterfinals. Offensively, Laura's numbers included a .312 batting average, a .377 on base percentage and a .354 slugging percentage.
Andrea Gosselin earned All Conference honors for her efforts during the 2010 Cromwell High School softball season.
Maurisa Ollari , in her role as Captain of the Varsity softball team at Agawam High School in Agawam, MA, earned First Team Division I All Western Mass honors as well as Western Mass All Scholastic honors for the 2010 season. As the starting third baseman for Agawam, Maurisa hit .390, had a .500 slugging percentage and had a .941 fielding percentage while helping her team reach the semifinals of the Western Mass state tourney.
Megan Ruonavaara earned All State, All Conference, All Academic and team MVP honors for her efforts during the 2010 Rocky Hill High School softball season while helping her team clinch its second straight Conference Championship and its second straight trip to the State Quarterfinals. In the circle, Megan went 16-2, with a 0.34 ERA, 198 K's, a perfect game, a no hitter and 10 shutouts. Megan's offensive stats included a .472 batting average, a .536 on base percentage and a .639 slugging percentage.
Jessica Shotwell earned All Academic honors for her efforts during the 2010 softball season at The Gilbert School in Winsted, CT. Jess also received Athlete of the Week honors in the Torrington Register Citizen newspaper for pitching a no hitter vs. Litchfield in May. The speedy Jess also stole 15 bases in 16 attempts during the season.
Emily Thompson earned All Academic honors for her efforts during the 2010 Rocky Hill High School softball season. Emily helped her team win its second consecutive Conference Championship and its second straight trip to the State Quarterfinals. Offensively, Emily posted a .448 batting average, a .467 on base percentage and a .483 slugging percentage.
